Billy Donald Young, age 80 of Rocky Mount died Wednesday, May 11, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Blanche Young; sister, Polly Conner; and brother, Douglas Young. Surviving are his wife, Sylvia Young; children, Donna Young Austin and boyfriend, Doug Jones, Connie M. Young and boyfriend, Mike Hall “Smiley”, Lonnie Young (Amanda); grandchildren, Travis Lee Austin and girlfriend Renee Grivois, Nathan W. Young, Christian K. Young; brothers, Frank Young (Linda), Walter Young (Sissy), Richard Young (Marlene), Gerald Young (Diann); and sisters, Jean Mattox, Peggy Meeks, Irene Shively, Nancy Mullins (Buford), Gail Pigg (Arnold). Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Saturday with Dr. Billy Shively officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
