Blanche Montgomery Young, age 98 of Danville and formerly of Franklin County died Sunday, January 7, 2007 at Roman Eagle Memorial Home in Danville, Virginia.
She was born September 26, 1908 a daughter of the late Benjamin and Rosa Peters Montgomery. She was married to the late John Robert Young.
Mrs. Young was a longtime member of Rocky Mount Christian Church, changing her membership to West End Christian Church when she moved to Danville in 1999.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Claude Robinson; four brothers, Clarence, Forest, William and Raymond Montgomery; one sister, Etta Montgomery Hancock.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosemary Young Robinson; two grandsons and their wives, Jeffrey and Coressa Robinson, Christopher and Jennifer Robinson; three great-grandchildren, Tucker Robinson, Taylor Robinson and Blake Robinson; three sisters-in-law, Betty Montgomery, Roxie Jarrett and Blanche Sink; one brother-in-law, Luther Young; four nieces; four nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted from Mountain View Memorial Park 2:00 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. June Haislip officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
