Blanton Walter Simmons, age 91 of Hardy passed away Monday, February 25, 2008.
He was born on September 26, 1916, to the late David Walter and Julia Robertson Simmons. He was preceded in death by five brothers; and three sisters.
Blanton is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Wilfred and Mary Simmons; one sister, Elsie Clark; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Trinity Mission for the care given to Blanton.
Funeral services will be conducted from Oak Hill Old German Baptist Brethren Church 10 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2008 with the Home Brethren officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family respectfully request that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3:30 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
