Bobbie Jo Hurley, age 41 of Rocky Mount passed away Friday, September 18, 2009 after a 19-month battle with a rare form of kidney cancer. This vibrant soul and talented artist was born in Dayton, Ohio on December 15, 1967. Bobbie was preceded in death her grandparents, Don and Jane Hurley and Brady Morris; as well as a niece, Ainslee Gauldin. The loved ones left behind to cherish wonderful memories of Bobbie are daughters, Autumn Hurley and Magen Elixson; grandson, Noah “Brady”; grandmother, Thelma Morris; mother, Frances Morris; father, Jim Hurley; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Billy Gauldin; brothers, Jimmy and Judd Hurley and their children; and niece, Maleena Gauldin. At Bobbie’s request, the family is asking that in lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to honor Bobbie plant a tree in her memory; because in Bobbie’s words, “the world is a dim place without the shade of a good tree”.
