Bobby Kermit Hodges, age 77 of Rocky Mount died Thursday, February 8, 2018. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Carlton L. Hodges; mother and father, James and Kate Hodges. Hodges; daughter-in-law, Susan Hodges; granddaughter, Caitlin Abelseth (Jacob); grandson, Zachary Hodges (Tori); brother, Jerry Hodges (Nickey); sister, Hilda Ferguson; one niece and one nephew; lots of nieces and nephews on Ann’s side of the family; also a large church family that he loved also. Bobby loved to fish, play softball, pitch horse shoes, play corn hole and bowl. He and one of his best friends, Hambone loved to carry aluminum cans to the junk yard to make money to use at Doe Run Church. He loved people everywhere, and he coached boy’s softball teams (they only had to attend church two Sundays a month). He also played softball with his son for Doe Run. And he made a joyful noise (singing) in the church choir for years. Bobby was a Deacon, then he became an Elder of the church continuing as long as he could. He worked with Lords Acre for years, and he loved to make apple butter for the church as a money making project. Bobby was a loving father and dearly loved husband. Bobby testified every opportunity that came along and the one question he would leave with everyone…Do you go to church and do you know my Jesus?
