Bobby W. Perdue, age 68 of Rocky Mount died peacefully Friday morning May 29, 2015 at his home. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Hubert, Harvey, Henry; sisters, Eva Marie and Sarah; a special niece, Melissa Tosh who he loved dearly; his parents, Joe and Mary Perdue who Bobby thanked God for giving him the best parents; also father-in-law, Perry Young. Surviving are his soulmate, best friend and woman he truly loved and cherished for 18 years, his wife, Dorene Young Perdue; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lewis and Elsie, Sammy and Althea, Dayton and Audrey; sisters, Mary “Sissy” Bolling and Juanita David; sister-in-law and husband, Jeanie and Phil Tosh; brother-in-law and wife, Wally and Carol Young; also his mother-in-law, Alice Young who was also his caretaker who he loved and worshiped as his second mother; numerous nieces and nephews. Rita Donahue who he loved as a sister and Pastor Eddie Hawks a brother in Christ. Special thanks to Heartland Hospice nurses and aids, RN’s Stephanie and Barb, Tamia, and Karen. Funeral services will be conducted from Woodlawn Baptist Church 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Eddie Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in Epworth United Methodist Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Woodlawn Baptist Church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
