Listen to Obituary

Bonnie Lucille Turner Hudson, age 76 of Rocky Mount passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025 at home with family by her side. She courageously battled cancer for five years before her body could not fight any longer. She was born in Franklin County on July 23, 1947, to James Dairrell and Meda Scott Turner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wesley Hudson; daughter, Leslie Neice; and brothers, Eddie, Irvin, Danny Turner.

Bonnie was a loving wife, mother, granny, and friend to those close to her.  She loved the beach and light houses which often found their way into her crafts. After Wesley passed away in 2016, she moved to Alaska where she enjoyed the last frontier before returning to Virginia in 2020. She often could be found reading, working on crafts, and puzzle books. She was a woman of faith and attended Redeeming Life Church and later Fairview Church of the Brethren.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Susan Bussey (Darin); and son-in-law, Jeffrey Neice; grandchildren, Brandon Neice (Katryna), Justin Neice (Victoria), Kelsi Medders (Cameron), Dean Bussey (Shelby), Ryan Neice (Shyrae), Michael Neice, and Daniel Neice; great-grandchildren, Xandir, Areiya, Willow, Christopher, Montgomery, and Carter Neice. Also, Alex, Scarlett, and Devin Medders and Henry Bussey; brothers, Tommy Turner (Irene), Charles Turner (Linda) and Curtis Turner; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Special thanks to friend Sylvia Bussey, who was always engaging Bonnie in activities and in her faith.
