Brenda Carol Barfield

Brenda Carol Barfield, 72, of Scottsville, VA, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Hospice of the Piedmont, in Charlottesville, VA. Born November 14, 1942 in Whiteville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ellie Barfield and Pauline White. Brenda was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be fondly remembered for her zest for life, her passion for helping others, and conserving our natural resources. Survivors include son Mark Joyner (Gayle) and daughter Shannon Joyner of VA; sisters: Faye Evans (Jerry) of VA and Sherry Thorpe of NC; brothers: Kenneth Barfield (Sara) of CA, Robert White and David White (Kim) of NC; grandchildren: Lauren Liming (Justin), Grant Hower (Amber), Spenser Haskett (Allie), Sable Haskett, Chase Joyner, and a great grandson Jonah Haskett; she is also survived by her life partner Fred Vance. Additionally, we recognized close friends Nancy and George Miller of VA. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date for family and friends in Scottsville, VA.
