C.A. Flora

Cecil Alfred Flora (C.A.) of Boones Mill, Va. passed away peacefully at home Friday June 26, 2015. He was born on November 26, 1932 to the late Charles Abraham and Emma Saul Flora. He was also preceded in death by his sisters and brothers-in-law Margaret Flora, Martha and Dr. Bays Wolfe, Ruth and Jack Jones, Christine and Paul Overfelt, Louise and Bob Iseminger and Reggie Oliver. C.A. is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Gladys Trinkle Flora; three children, daughter Dawn Flora Hinton and husband Bill, son Cecil Alfred Flora, Jr. (Al) and wife Cathie, son Robert Brent Flora; grandsons, Will and Landon Hinton; granddaughter Sara Flora; two sisters Charlie Ann Oliver and Josephine Flora; brothers and sisters-in-law John Trinkle, Sue and Burnette Brown, Stanley and Sherry Trinkle; many loved nieces, nephews, and their families. C. A. was a man of great faith and character. He was a lifelong active member of Antioch Church of the Brethren. He served in the United States Navy before returning home to own and operate a Grade A dairy farm until 1982. He joined Meadow Spring Land and Realty as a licensed real estate agent and associate broker. He helped to form Meadow Spring Auction Company. C.A. served for 16 years as a member of Farm Credit Board of Directors. He was a founding member of the Franklin County Recreation Commission. He was past president of Rocky Mount Jaycees and Rotary Club. He was past director and Ambassador of the Chamber of Commerce and a treasurer of the Callaway Ruritan Club. His family will receive friends on Sunday, June 28, 2015, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Antioch Church of the Brethren. Memorial services will be held at Antioch Church of the Brethren on Monday, June 29 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Eric Anspaugh and Rev. Becky Rhodes officiating.
