Calvin B. Hall, age 91 of Rocky Mount passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. Calvin had many names that consisted of Daddy, Papa C., Coolie or Friend. Calvin was born on August 26, 1926 to Allie Berger and Betty Ann Hall. He married the love of his life Katherine Perdue on October 16, 1945. He lost a big part of his heart when she passed in 2003. He never met a stranger and loved to ask everyone how old they thought he was. Calvin was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine P. Hall; daughter, Joyce H. Altice; parents, Berger and Betty Ann; and several brothers and sisters. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Diane (Don) Hodges, Don (Barbara) Hall, Sonya (Tata) Ledbetter; his precious grandchildren, Tina (Rick) Franklin, Chris (Layne) Altice, Miche (Tim) Hall, Tiffany (David) Mountcastle, Ashley (Ashley) Hall, Haley Ledbetter and friend Dylan Shively and Sadie Wallace; his great-grandchildren, Brittany and Brandon Franklin, Kamryn Altice, Ames Hall; siblings, Junior (Ruby) Hall, Barbara Jean (Broaddus) Shively, Ralph (Joan) Hall, Garland (Jeanette) Hall; sister-in-law, Mildred Hall; and his best friends, Richard and Peggy Wallace, Harold Jones, Alvin Hall. Calvin was always making potholders and giving to people and would shine whenever they talked about them. He had many other friends and kids he called his children at FCHS and BFMS as he was the oldest living Eagle fan. He also drove the bus for several years. He served our country in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946. Funeral services will be conducted from Faith Fellowship Church, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Friday at Faith Fellowship Church. Flowers are appreciated or memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity in his name. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
