Calvin Franklin Hodges

Calvin Franklin Hodges, age 79 of Glade Hill passed away Monday, December 24, 2012. Mr. Hodges was a member of Rocky Mount First Church of the Brethren and had a career with 20 years of service in the United States Army and retired with rank of Sergeant First Class. He was born January 26, 1933 a son of the late Edgar Montegue (Edgie) and Cynthia Ann Campbell Hodges. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Edgar Montegue Hodges and Elwood Lee Hodges; sister, Evelyn Hodges Hubbard. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and David Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Alison Hodges; grandchildren, Samantha Atkins, Wesley Atkins, Brandy Atherton, Jamie Hodges, Shawn Hodges and Nicole Hodges; seven great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Lolene and Ray Corron; sister-in-law, Nadine Hodges; special friend, Betty Brown; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Flora Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Collins officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends one hour prior to service on Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
