Canary Edd Hale, 75, of Ferrum went home to be with the Lord at his home on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. He was born on November 18, 1946, to the late Delbert and Beulah Hale. He was preceded in death by a brother, Sammy Hale, and two infant siblings.
“Eddie” is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Hale of Ferrum, daughters, Jennifer Whitlow (Chris) of Henry, Lorrie Betterton (Jason) of Rocky Mount, and Janice Via (Phillip) of Wirtz. Grandchildren include: Grant and Evan Whitlow, Lily and Ava Betterton, and Jace Via. He is also survived by brothers, HD and Jackie Hale, and sisters, Mittie Hale, Judy Menowsky, Patsy Setliff, Linda Setliff, and Kay Pagans.
Eddie Hale was founder and owner of “Eddie Hale Trucking” from 1978 to 2017. Eddie was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others before himself.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Terry Covey officiating. His family will receive friends following the graveside at the home. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
