Cardwell Ferguson Garst

Cardwell Ferguson Garst (Ozzie), age 75 of Boones Mill died Sunday, March 20, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur High Garst, Sr. and Elva Ferguson Garst; brother, Frederick Garst and sister, Anna Belle Garst Strickland. Surviving are his son, Ryan Garst (Kaylin); daughter, Stephanie Garst; granddaughter, Addison; brothers, Arthur High Garst, Jr. (Ann), Jack Garst (Barbara); sister-in-law, Serina Garst; brother-in-law, Tommy Strickland; many nieces and nephews; his longtime companion, Faye Beckner and her family, Emily Guilliams (W.C.), Dylan and Whitney, Tammy Beckner (J.C.), Andrew and Alley. The family extends a special thanks to all those who were involved in his care. Cardwell loved his hometown community of Boones Mill where he was well-known and had many lifelong friends. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel, 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Josh Cokendolpher officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
