Carol Pendleton Ferguson

Carol Pendleton Ferguson, age 81 of Rocky Mount passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025. She was born May 4, 1944, a daughter of the late Cabel and Grace Sowder Pendleton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Julian “J.C.” Ferguson; siblings, Hilda “Bootie” Guilliams, Maude Bolling, Frances “Babe” Hodges, Mary Pendleton, Jake Pendleton, Howard Pendleton, Wiss “Littlon” Pendleton, John “Biggon” Pendleton and Frank Pendleton. Surviving to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Rhonda (Ricky) Furrow and Faith Flora; three grandchildren, Cory (Estelle) Furrow, Tim Furrow and Jonah Flora; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special neighbors. Carol was a longtime member at Glade Hill Baptist Church. She loved to cook, especially for her family who she loved dearly. Carol loved bluegrass music and loved to laugh. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel, 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Glade Hill Baptist Church.
