Carolyn Conway Barnhart

Carolyn Conway Yaggi Barnhart, 76 of Rocky Mount passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011. Carolyn was born November 26, 1934 in New Philadelphia, Ohio a daughter of the late Henry Joseph Yaggi and Jule Conway Yaggi. She was preceded in death by a son Harry Barnhart on March 8, 2011. She graduated from VPI in 1958 and was chosen Miss VPI her sophomore year. Surviving are her daughter, Ellen Irons and husband Jim; son, Stephen Barnhart and wife Beth; grandchildren, Ashley and Kristen Irons, Daniel and Elizabeth Barnhart; special cousin, Margaret Davidson; step mother, Annie Yaggi. Her family would like to express a special thanks to Heather Ferguson. Memorial donations may be made to the Franklin County Humane Society, 18401 Virgil Goode Highway, Rocky Mount, VA 24151 Graveside services will be conducted from Mountain View Memorial Park 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Bill Hinton officiating. Her family will receive friends Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
