Carolyn "Penny" Thurman Graveley

Carolyn (Penny) Thurman Graveley, age 79 formerly of Rocky Mount, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2026. She was born May 15, 1947, a daughter of Bentley H. Thurman and Annie Hudson Thurman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Graveley; her parents; and her siblings, Anne Thurman Leggett and Paul H. Thurman. Surviving are her brother, Joe Henry Thurman (Cherold); her nieces and nephew, Kathy Thurman Raab (Paul), Karen A. Thurman, Kristie L. Thurman, Richard J. Thurman (Leslie), and Donna Thurman Chandler (Richard). Special thanks to her friend, Rita Law Major, who showed so much compassion for Penny over the years. A private graveside service will be held at Franklin Memorial Park conducted by Reverend Gregory Reynolds. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
