Carolyn Sue Perdue Turner

Carolyn "Sue" Perdue Turner, age 65 of Glade Hill, passed from this life to her eternal life on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 with her family by her side. Sue was born October 20, 1957 to the late Oakie Giles Perdue and Martha Nannie (Durham) Perdue. She was preceded in death by her brother, Elmer Ray Perdue; and her beloved husband of 49 years, Lester Calvin Turner. Sue is survived by her daughter, Teresa Gayle Craghead (Christopher) of Glade Hill; mother, Martha Perdue of Moneta; siblings, Joyce St.Clair, Roger Perdue, Giles Perdue, Ann (Jimmy) Hughes, Polly Mitchell, Doris (Allen) Richards, David (Brenda) Perdue, Alice (Wade) Martin; brother-in-law, Rev. Denver (Donna) Turner; sister-in-law, Kathy (Phillip) Dillon; and special niece, Alicia Dillon Foster. Sue leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews that she has spoiled through the years and special friends to cherish her memory. A graveside service will be held in the Turner Family Cemetery (Divers Lane Glade Hill, VA), 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023 with Dr. Stan Parris officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Franklin Heights Church in Sue's honor to help shine a light for those that are broken, hopeless and lost. Sue had the heart of a servant and would want everyone to know that Jesus is the light of the world. He was sent into the world to cast out darkness, to point people to God, to call people to repentance for their sins, and to empower his followers to do good works that bring glory to God!
