Cecil Edward Carter, age 75 of Rocky Mount, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2009.
He was the son of the late Lonzie and Viola Carter. He was also preceded in death by his three brothers, Lonzie, Ray and Lyndell; and one sister, Jean.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Jeanette Jefferson Carter; his children, Rhonda of Rocky Mount, Mark and wife Alicia of Keeling, VA, Jeff and wife Carol of Columbia, MD, Les and wife Margie of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Brad, Kelli, Brandi, Julia and Emily. He is also survived by a very special “daughter” Allison Taylor and her husband Mark and sons, Reid and Graham; brothers and sisters, Glen Carter of Ridgeway, Wayne Carter of Collinsville, Curtis Carter of Collinsville, Linda Younger of Danville, Ercell Hodges of Collinsville, Ruby Law of Rocky Mount, Edith Hodges of Collinsville, Agnes Franklin of Bassett, Betty Jones of Collinsville; and many nieces and nephews.
A very special thank you to Beverly Rudder for the excellent care she gave our dad the last week of his life.
Graveside services will be conducted from Franklin Memorial Park 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Mark Griffith officiating.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Monday with his family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
