Cecil Melvin Fralin, 88, of Union Hall, passed away Friday, February 1, 2008 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Ruth Perdue Fralin; two daughters Barbara Rigney and Carolyn (Kitty) Carter; his parents, Luther Leonard and Ethel Mae Fralin; three sisters, Loline Fralin, Ethel Perdue and Estelle Harrison; two brothers, Morton and Junior Fralin.

Cecil loved his family and will be greatly missed. He was an avid racing fan and enjoyed seeing the Fords cross the finish line first.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law Mildred and Junior Rigney, Penhook; Sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Barbara Fralin of Rocky Mount, Oliver and Alise Fralin of Glade Hill, Terry Fralin of Union Hall and special friend Wanda Wuergler, Keith and Yessenia Fralin of Manassas; two sons-in-law, Wilson Carter and Paul Rigney; eleven grandchildren, Mitzi Clark, Cathy Thurman, Drema Bowles, Tammy Humble, Linda Hutchinson, Regina Fralin, Allen Rigney, Brad Fralin, Matthew Fralin, Ethan Fralin, and Leah Fralin; one step-grandson, Keith Brown; eight great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Charles Perdue of Glade Hill; brothers Virgil Fralin of Glade Hill and Douglas Fralin and wife Irene of Union Hall; sister-in-law, Shirley Fralin of Crimora; many special nieces, nephews, and friends.

Special thanks to Alice Faye Hall for her many acts of kindness, and always being there when called upon.

Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel, 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008 with by Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.

Although the family appreciates your consideration in sending flowers, they would rather you consider making a memorial contribution to the Glade Hill Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 82, Glade Hill, Virginia 24092 in order for them to continue the care and comfort they provide throughout Franklin County.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday with his family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount and other times at the family home.
