Cecil Mayhorn

Cecil Mayhorn, age 66 of Rocky Mount passed away Monday, November 10, 2025. He was the son of the late Fred and Cora Shephard Mayhorn. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Yates and Mary Coleman; and one brother, Ernie. He was employed at Barny Bay Dairy for nearly 30 years and enjoyed working on engines and spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandbaby. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 43 years, Edna; daughter, Heather F. (Richard); son, Cecil Lee (Sara); four grandchildren, Katie Ferguson (Ed), Richard Ferguson, Jr. (Brianna), Zachary Mayhorn, (Elizabeth) Izzy; one great-grandson, Richard Scott Ferguson III; his puppy, Gizzmo; brothers, Willie (Linda), Richard (Dolly), Leonard, Harold (Missy); sisters, Betty Yates, Pearl (Nipper), Garnet (Stacy), Sue Justus (Daniel); many nieces and nephews including one special nephew, Danny (Reva). The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to Mark Barnhart and Heather as well as Good Samaritan Hospice. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
