Cecil Perdue

Claude Cecil Perdue, age 83 of Glade Hill was called home to be with our Lord on Monday, September 3, 2018. He was born on November 5, 1934. He served in the U.S. Army for three years. He was an active member of Mt. Ivy Christian Church and loved working on church projects with his fellow members. He attended morning meetings at his local McDonald’s to discuss politics and current events. He loved an adventure, from sky diving at 65 years old, driving a racecar at 69, and ziplining with his granddaughter in 2017 at the age of 82. He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. God blessed Cecil and his wife, Nancy (Robertson) Perdue with 65 years of marriage. They were blessed with four children, Doraine Dent (Robert), Denise Amos (Mike), Derek Perdue (Patty), and Damon Perdue (Tammy); grandchildren, Shilynn Brooks, Sheena Amos Turner, Megan Perdue, Reneigh Duhaney, Landon Robertson (Lori), and Jarrett Robertson; great-grandchildren, Claudia and Zach Brooks, Tucker Perdue, Abielle and Jagger Turner, Aynslie, Camden, Savanna, and Alexa Robertson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Ella (Eames) Perdue; five brothers; and four sisters. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Chapel with Steve Pasley, Minister officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Mt. Ivy Christian Church in Moneta, Va. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
