Cecil G. Truman

Cecil G. Truman, age 88 of Hardy went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 13, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, James “T.E.” Truman and Nettie Leora Plunkett Truman and was the last surviving sibling. Mr. Truman was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Virginia Irene Truman; children, Ora Mae Jackson and husband Kevin, Wayne Truman and wife Dottie; grandchildren, Stephanie Jackson, Amanda Jackson, Greg Jackson, Melissa Truman, Brad Truman and wife Missy; great-grandchildren, Sofia Jackson, Mariella Jackson, Aria Jackson, Julianna Ward, Gabriel Ward, Tyler Truman, Zach Truman, Jimmy Sturgill, Garrett Sturgill; many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice for their care and concern. Graveside services will be conducted from Mountain View Memorial Park 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor Dan Carawan and Pastor Tom McCracken officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount. Our beloved husband, father and grandpa will be remembered and missed.
