Charles Ballard Bollings (Chicken), age 55, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. He was born December 12, 1964 and grew up in Redwood, VA. He was preceded in death by his Father, Ballard Maston Bollings.

Charles was a dedicated man of God who led his family in the same manner. He was a member of New Vision Baptist Church. He was a carpenter for many years and most recently served as Office Manager and Estimator for Creative Curbs. He graduated from Franklin County High School as an outstanding athlete and proud member of the class of 1983.  He was a dedicated member of Carpenters for Christ since 2002. Some of his proudest moments came during his tenure as a coach where he was able to teach, influence, and inspire young men both on and off the field. He was an extremely proud and successful Sandlot Football Coach where he completed his career with 3 Super Bowl victories in 4 years and a 42-4 overall record. He was an equally passionate pageant and cheer dad. He enjoyed his time outdoors with family, hunting, fishing, and announcing for Franklin County sporting events. Charles will always be remembered as a loving Husband, a gracious Father, a playful Brother, an adored Son, and a joyful Papi.

He is survived by his loving wife, best friend, and soulmate of 33 years, Carolyn Holland Bollings, his treasured sons Brandon (Melia), Ryan (Stephanie), Nick, and his precious daughter Alexis Faith (Punkee), His mother Norene Bollings, Step-Mother Brenda Bollings, Father-In-Law Perry Holland, Sister Lisa Altice, step sisters Kathy (John) Marshall and Dyan (Sergio) Pacheco, Grand-children Reid, Sawyer, Elsie Chitwood, and Brayden Goodman, brother in laws, Keith Holland and Melvin Holland and sister in law Cindy Holland Templin (Harvey), along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Flora Funeral Service from 6-8 p.m where the family will be receiving friends. Funeral services will take place on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Flora Funeral Service followed by an interment at the Holland Family Cemetery in Glade Hill, VA with Rev. David Long and Rev. Joe Wooldridge officiating. Pallbearers; Brandon Chitwood, Ryan Bollings, Nick Bollings, Melvin Holland, Keith Holland, Robbie Hundley, Clyde Bernard, and Steve St. Clair. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
