Charles Edison "Charlie" Robertson

February 18, 1958 — May 21, 2007

Listen to Obituary
Charles (Charlie) Edison Robertson, of Goodview, left this earth May 21, 2007 to be with his Heavenly Father. Charlie was born February 18, 1958 to Mary Lou and Paul Max Robertson of Rocky Mount. Charlie is survived by his mother and father; wife Kathleen; step-son Walker; brother Max (Kim) Robertson of Roanoke; nephew Cameron; father-in-law and mother-in-law Donald and Julia Osborne of Moneta; brother-in-law Don (Kathie) Osborne of Snow Creek; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and church family who loved him dearly. Not only will this leave a hole in the hearts of those who loved him, but the community will miss seeing Charlie’s smile that he had for everyone. He served in many ways at his home church, Halesford Baptist Church in Wirtz and he served as a Gideon in the Franklin County Camp. After graduating from Virginia Tech in 1988, Charlie joined the Hokie Club and supported Tech in many ways. Most recently he’d been asked to serve on the scholarship review board and was looking forward to that opportunity. He was employed by T.S. Manufacturing near Lindsey Ontario, Canada. Charlie loved giving and receiving flowers and there will be many at his funeral. But if you would rather honor his memory with a gift to the Gideons, his life might touch the life of someone else seeking a relationship with Jesus through the words of those Bibles. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Home in Rocky Mount with his family receiving friends from 6 – 8 p.m. The funeral will be Thursday May 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Halesford Baptist Church with Rev. Melvin Harris and Rev. Tony Gray officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Calvin Cummings, Sheldon Nichols, Randy Scott, Bobby Thompson, Kenneth Handy and Timmy Robertson. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
