Charles Benjamin Clements, of Roanoke, Va. died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the age 80. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Viola May Clements; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill Clements and wife Opal, John Thomas (Pete) Clements and wife Elizabeth, Lewis J. Clements; sister, Dorothy Angell; and nephew, Tommy Clements. Charles graduated from Franklin County High School in 1950, Ferrum Junior College in 1952 and Virginia Tech in 1954. Upon graduation from Tech he became Business Manager for Exchange Milling Company. He then joined his brother Bill Clements in forming Clements Ford Tractor. He was a member of Rocky Mount United Methodist Church. Charles was also a 54 year member of Isaac’s Lodge #29 A.F. & A.M. in Boones Mill where he also served as Master of the Lodge for four years. He was a member of the Knights Templar, Kazim Shrine Temple and the Order of the Eastern Star Electa Chapter #23. Charles was a very devoted and caring husband to his wife of 39 years, Eloise Howard Clements. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Ina Clements and Faye Burton and husband Paul. He was very devoted to his nieces and nephews, Carolyn C. Boyd, Billy Clements, Michael Clements, Sidney Clements, Jackie and Carroll Angell, Betsy Clements, Dr. John Clements, David Clements, Lewis K. Clements, Kevin Clements, Benjamin Clements; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Rocky Mount United Methodist Church 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Gary Robbins and Rev. Bruce D. Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park with Masonic Rites by Isaac’s Lodge. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Tower Chime Fund at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church, 35 North Main Street, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
