Charles M. Crowley, age 80 of Wirtz died Thursday, December 21, 2017 at his residence due to complications from Parkinson Disease. He was born in Jersey City, NJ on January 6, 1937, a son of the late Eleanor Muller Crowley and Charles Stephen Crowley. In addition to his wife and sons, his only living relative is his sister, Joan Crowley McFadden who resides in Wayne, NJ. Charles graduated in 1956 from Teaneck High School and attended two years of college at Fairleigh Dickensons University. He eventually became a supervisor for NJ Bell Telephone Company and retired after 35 years of dedicated service. After retirement, he and his beloved wife Claire moved to Royal Estates in Wirtz, VA and previously lived at 35 Crown Pointe Drive on Smith Mountain Lake, VA. They recently celebrated their 59 th wedding anniversary. His number one love was coaching the Franklin County Junior Wrestling team for 12 years. Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Claire and his two sons, Scott William and Kevin Charles Crowley and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be at Flora Funeral Chapel, 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 with Pastor Melvin Harris officiating.
