Charles Kevin Maxey, age 45 of Hardy was called home on Monday, May 5, 2008.
He was a long time member of Epworth United Methodist Church and attended Faith Fellowship Church.
He was the devoted dad of Charles Justin Maxey; the loving son of C. Ferris and Thelma Wuegler Maxey; the brother of G. Todd Maxey and wife, Natalie; the uncle of Walker and Journi Maxey; the step dad of Chad and Scott Brown; and a friend to many.
He was the grandson of Harry and Vera Maxey and Ray and Hazel Wuergler, who predeceased him.
He touched many lives through his work in health care and as a volunteer of the Burnt Chimney Fire Department, The Red Valley Rescue and the Scruggs Dive Team.
Funeral services will be conducted from Faith Fellowship Church 3 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008 with Pastor Gary Hoffman and Rev. Josh Munnikhuyse officiating. Interment will follow in the Epworth United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
