Charles Russell Mcdaniel, Sr.

Charles Russell McDaniel, Sr. age 91 of Roanoke passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Franklin Healthcare Center in Rocky Mount, Va. He was born May 7, 1930 in Steele, Missouri, the son of Starr and Q'Belle Russell McDaniel. He and Sarah Gill were married June 24, 1955 and lived at Rocky Mount from 1962 to 2005. Charles and Sarah have four children, all married: Charles Russell McDaniel Jr. (Nancy) of Hillsville, Sarah Claire Cline (Michael) of Crozet, Melinda Lee Arthur (Vaughn) of Forest, and Laurie Starr McDaniel Joyce (Bryon) of Sontag. They have four grandchildren, Holly Michelle Cline, Sarah Ann Greer Peters, Conan Taylor McDaniel and Eli Charles McDaniel. Charles' only sister, Mary Katherine Emerson of Tucson passed away in 2003. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Mountain View Memorial Park with Rev. Wayburn Mosley officiating.
