Charles Clifford Swanson, age 88 of Redwood passed away Friday November 29, 2013. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, member of Woodlawn Baptist Church for over 50 years and retired from Gil Farmer Chevrolet. He was born October 8, 1925 a son of the late Warren and Beulah Pugh Swanson. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Audrey Cooner, Marie Brooks, Ardith West and Juanita Weddle and a great-grandson Josiah Hall. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Dalphine Swanson, daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Allen Hall, Wanda and Bobby Housman, son and daughter-in-law, Doyle Clifford and Pat Swanson, grandchildren Kim Beckner (Al), Kendall Hall (Debbie), Joel Housman (Steffanie), Christa Swanson great-grandchildren, Shana Hambrick (Chris), Tucker Hall, Ruby Grace Hall and Gabriel Swanson, sister, Mabel Belcher, several nieces and nephews, special friends, Billy Wayne Dudley and Everette Altice. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Chapel with Pastor Eddie Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Family will receive friends 6 til 8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
