Charles Wallace Blankenship, “Butch”, age 80 of Ferrum died Wednesday, May 15, 2024. He was born October 22, 1943 a son of the late Grover and Iris Mae Blankenship and was also preceded in death by his brother, Gary Blankenship. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Janet Peters Blankenship; daughters, Sharon Hutchins (Matthew) of Cincinnati, OH and Shelli Amow (Mike) of St. Petersburg, FL; grandsons, Nicholas, Charlie and Jack; granddaughter, Kate; sisters-in-law, Linda Edwards (JB) and Judy Peters; and special friends, Ronald and Phyllis Holley. Butch worked in management with Fisher Auto Parts retiring after 44 years of service. He enjoyed following Chicago Cubs, NASCAR, and was a fan of Elvis Presley. Most of all Butch enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2024 with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. A private burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
