Charlie Noel Carter

Charlie Noel Carter, age 76 of Callaway died Thursday, April 5, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Emmett Carter and Gladys Lena Gibson Carter; brothers and sisters, Doris Foster and husband Jimmie, Gerald Carter and wife Nora, Lolene Mitchell and husband Hix, Lois McGhee and husband Woodrow, Lane Carter and wife Thelma, Donald Carter, Nathaniel Carter; brothers-in-law, Owen Jones, Frank Still, Eugene Kritter and Dillard Fisher. Surviving are his children, Chuck Carter and wife Vanessa, Kevin Carter and wife Cheryl; grandsons, Brendon, Austin and Joseph; brother and sisters, Mildred Jones, Paulina Still, Ileta Peters and husband Frank, Nellie Kritter, Ray Carter, Fay Fisher; first wife, Arlene Carter; second wife, Linda Carter; sisters-in-law, Vera Carter and Reba Carter. His pleasures in life were dancing, golf and pitching horse shoes. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Saturday with Elder Mark Terry and Elder Junior Conner officiating. Interment will follow in the Carter Family Cemetery, Ferrum. His family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
