Chester Darryl Grindstaff

Darryl Grindstaff passed away on August 26, 2021 at the age of 76. Darryl was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Doris Grindstaff and his sister, Gayle Grindstaff Shockley. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Delphie Anderson Grindstaff; sons, Ken Grindstaff and Keith Grindstaff; daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Brian Constable; grandchildren, Kaleb and Skylar Grindstaff, Coleman and Ben Grindstaff, and Christian, Owen, and Violet Constable; sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and Howard Ferguson; brother and sister-in-law, Hugh and Sharon Grindstaff. Darryl loved God, family, baseball, basketball, and helping others... but most of all, he cherished being "Papa". He will be missed dearly. A memorial service will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2021. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church (c/o Rita Doughton, 2085 Crooked Oak Road, Rocky Mount, VA 24151).
