Christie Lee Wood Shively

Christie Lee Wood Shively, age 42 of Boones Mill, VA., died on Wednesday, December 29, 2011. She was born May 19, 1969, a daughter of Donnie Wood and the late Judy L. Wood. She was preceded in death by her mother, Judy L. Wood and her sister, Annette Wood. Christie was a member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. She graduated from Franklin County High School, she was employed by First Virginia Bank, Member One Credit Union and Wachovia Bank over the years but as of late she was a stay at home mom. Surviving are her husband of 22 years, Steven W. Shively; her daughters, Magan A. Shively and Brandi L. Shively; her father, Donnie Wood; in-laws, Vera and Don Shively; aunts, Ethel Akers (Eugene), Garnett L. Flora (David), Martha L. Hubbard (Billie) and Becky L. Coleman (Rev. Ronald); uncles, Jimmy Law (Gail) and Buddy Wood (Lorene) as well as several cousins. Her special K-9 friends were Trixie and Scooby Doo. Funeral services will be conducted from Sandy Ridge Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2012 with Rev. Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Church of the Brethren cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, 1444 Bonbrook Mill Road, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151. Her family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church and other times at the home of Don and Vera Shively, 240 Wescott Road, Rocky Mount, VA. She was a loving mother, wife and soul mate, daughter and friend. She will continue to live in our hearts and memories. God rest her soul.
