Christine Jones

Mabel Christine Jones, age 83 of Richmond and formerly of Callaway died Tuesday, February 1, 2011. She was born July 13, 1927 a daughter of the late Aldine and Pearl Jones. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Stafford Jones, Rudolph Jones, and Ishmael Jones; and sister, Ina J. Messenger. Miss Jones retired from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. She gave annually to several charities including St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Surviving are her sisters, Juanita J. Howell, Estelle Jones, Geraldine J. Smith and husband William; also her special great niece, Kimberly Daniel; several other nieces and nephews; and best friend, Bob DeLuca. Special thanks to Brenda Smith Gibson of Midlothian who provided her with assistance to doctors’ visits and to the hospital. Graveside services will be conducted from Pigg River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery 3 p.m. Friday with Rev. John Heck officiating.
