Christine Faye Peters, age 64 of Ferrum, died Sunday, February 15, 2009.
She was born July 20, 1944 a daughter of the late Ralph Jesse Carter and Roxie Emma Carter. She was also preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Allen Peters; sisters, Reba Mabry and Joy Underwood; brother, Kenneth Carter.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, her loving caregiver, who made her life easier, Melvin Peters; her daughter, Ramona “Sissy” Peters; son, Timothy Peters; grandchild, Christi Peters; great-grandchild, Keyona Millner; sisters, Ellen Barbour, Betty Adkins (CL), Margaret Jones, Clara Carter, Janie Belcher (Lane); brothers, Jesse Carter (Edna), Aaron Carter; brothers-in-law, JC Mabry, Phillip Underwood; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Endicott Assembly of God Church 12 noon Wednesday with Pastor Calvin Hickson and Pastor Kenneth Barbour officiating. Interment will follow in the Carter Family Cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday with her family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount and other times at the home of Janie and Lane Belcher, 1250 Republican Church Road, Ferrum, Va. 24088.
