On Thursday, September 4, 2025 Christopher (Eugene) Townes transition to be with the Lord. He was born December 6, 1963 in Rocky Mount, Virginia and was preceded in death by his parents, Junior Edward Townes and Annie Bell Mack Townes; and siblings, Ronnie Lee Townes, Charles Edward Townes and Keith Townes. Eugene was educated in the Franklin County Public School System and was employed at Ply Gem, formerly known as M&W. He also spent many years working with Asplundh Tree Company. Eugene was baptized at an early age and joined Snow Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Eugene was that person for everybody, he always greeted everyone with a big smile and open arms. Although he had a pure heart, he also had a contagious sense of humor that you couldn't help but to laugh. He was definitely one of a kind. As many of you may know, Eugene was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy’s fan, whether it was a winning season or not, Eugene always was loyal to them boys. He touched the hearts of many and will be missed dearly. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 30 years, Annette Lynn Townes; his three daughters, Tscharner Yvonne Belcher, Elisa Inez Belcher and Kyiesha Annette Belcher all of Rocky Mount, Virginia; a host of grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Junior Allen Townes, Rose Marie Smith, Betty Joyce Townes, Michael Antonio Townes, Cynthia Ann Townes, Vanessa Townes, Jerone Townes and Keith Townes; nieces and nephews he adored as if they were his own. Eugene valued his friendship with all but particularly shared a special brotherly relationship with Richard Witcher, Jay McHeimer and Jeff Dennis. A celebration of his life will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel 1 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2025. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
