Christopher Michael Woods

Christopher Michael Woods, our beloved husband, son and brother has passed from this world on angel wings. Christopher Michael Woods left us on August 7, and will be remembered by all who knew him as a beautiful soul with a unique personality and a huge heart. Michael was a 1998 graduate of Northside High School and was characterized by his passion for his art and his genuine love for all animals. Michael is survived by his wife Ruth Mechling, stepdaughter Alyshia Muckey, parents Michael Woods and Patricia Stiles, siblings Stevie Woods and Bryce Chalkley, Matthew and wife Jessica Woods and Patrick Woods and Fiance` Dianne Austin, grandfather Benjamin K. Woods, nieces Joelle Dobe, Deveigh Kamara and Cysa Austin and nephews Clay Walkup and Brenden Hicks. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Virginia D. Woods and Marilyn Ross. Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Chapel with Rev. Adam Coombs officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
