Chris Williams, 85, of Callaway, Virginia went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. “Papa” Chris was born November 29, 1926, in Greenbay, Wisconsin, to Eugene and Florence Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jean Masko of Wisconsin. He served proudly in the Navy during World War II and earned medals for his tours of duty of the Coral Sea and the Philippines. He had his Amateur Radio License KG6AR and was a member of Faith Fellowship Church in Wirtz, Virginia. Surviving Papa Chris are his wife, Grace Williams; his son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Eunice Miller of San Jose, California; grandchildren, Jacklyn and James; his daughter, Deborah Galvan of Callaway; grandchildren, Christine and Nathaniel; his daughter and son-in-law, Diana and William Smith of Austin Texas; grandchildren Austin and Lauren; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and Frank Wood of Callaway, Virginia; his special Aunt, Margaret “Maggie” Collins of Michigan; many nieces and nephews mostly from Wisconsin, and many dear friends in California. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Faith Fellowship Church in Wirtz, Virginia. His Pastor, Gary Hoffman of Faith Fellowship Church, and special guest Reverend Beverly Brafford, formerly of California, will be officiating.
