Clara Mason Dalton

Clara Mason Dalton, age 92 of Rocky Mount died Friday, March 8, 2019. She was born January 9, 1927 a daughter of the late James Oat and Denver Ingram Mason. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Edward Dalton; a great-grandson, Chase Bailey and several brothers and sisters. Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn Bailey (Roy, Jr.); grandsons, Kevin Bailey (Christie), Travis Bailey (Kimberly); great-grandchildren, Austin, Grace, Drake, and Griffin Bailey; brother, Coy Mason (Lola); along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving charter member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Mrs. Dalton was known for her God given talent of playing most any string instrument. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2019 at Franklin Memorial Park with Rev. Eddie Hawks and Rev. John Collins officiating. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Woodlawn Baptist Church (46 Woodlawn Dr. Rocky Mount, VA 24151).
