Clara Hodges Greer

Clara Hodges Greer, age 78 of Rocky Mount passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a friend to everyone. Clara retired from Lane Furniture with 27 years of service and was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Lee Hodges and Mary Hambrick Hodges, her husband, William Douglas Greer, a brother, Toby Hodges, son-in-law, Larry Ellington and sister-in-law, Deanna Hodges. Surviving are her children, Patricia Wright and husband Tom, Kathy Ellington, Penny Wright and husband Ronnie, Steven D. Greer and friend Darlene; grandchildren, Ronnie Dale Wright, Jennifer Mammolenti, Jeff Rakes, Danielle Irvin, Roger Ellington, Brittany Greer and Shaun Greer; eight great- grandchildren including a very special great- grandson Brady Vance and one great-great granddaughter, a brother, David Hodges. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015 with Rev. Jason Bryant, Rev. Walter Hughes and Rev. Marshall Banks officiating. Interment will be 11:00 a.m Monday at Mountain View Memorial Park.The family suggests memorials be made to New Hope UMC, P. O. Box 88, Callaway, VA 24067. Her family will receive friends beginning at 1 pm on Sunday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
