Clara Woods Peters, 94 of Bassett died Monday, August 4, 2008.
She was a longtime member of Riverview Primitive Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Peters; son, Wilson Peters, Chattanooga, TN.
Mrs. Peters is survived by her daughter, Lois Scott, Bassett; daughter-in-law, Donna Peters, Chattanooga, TN; six grandchildren, Paula June Elliott and husband Marty, Martinsville, Donna Gail Anderson and Coleman Myers, Henry, Gerry Lester Massey, Terry Lee Massey and wife Sally, Bassett, Crystal Scott, Chattanooga, TN, David Minter, Martinsville; eleven great-grandchildren, Mark, Jennifer, Jamie, Jeremy, Heather, Matthew, Whitney, Davy, Brittany, Brianna and Brandon; eight great-great-grandchildren.
A special appreciation to Carilion Hospice of Franklin County especially Kitty, Karen, Fran and Martha.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2008 with Elder Carl Terry officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
For those desiring, memorial contributions maybe made to Carilion Hospice of Franklin County, 180 Floyd Avenue, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
