Clarence Chitwood Boone of Rocky Mount, VA was born June 25, 1926. He departed this life for his heavenly home on April 25 th , 2017 at the age of 90 years, 10 months. He was born in Franklin County VA, the youngest son of the 14 children born to his parents, Henry E. and Alice Saloma Brubaker Boone. He was married to Nora Jean Bayer on September 27, 1947 in Boonsboro, Md. They enjoyed 69 years of married life. To this union were born 6 children: Russell Wayne, Sandra Kay, Everett Clarence, Reva Jean, Mark LaVerne and Rebecca Gail, whom they raised in their home just west of Rocky Mount. Clarence’s working years were spent as a partner with his brothers at Franklin Welding and Equipment Co. in Rocky Mount, from which he was retired. He was well known in the agriculture community as an expert parts man and appreciated interacting with the farmers and a wide variety of people that crossed his path. During his retirement years, much enjoyment was drawn from RVing, particularly at Rocky Knob on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Surviving are his wife, Nora; his children Sandra Kay Montgomery of Roanoke VA, Everett Clarence Boone of Ferrum VA, Mark LaVerne Boone (Kathleen) of Salida CA, and Rebecca Gail Austin (Terry) of Boones Mill VA; son-in-law Danny Campbell of Redwood VA; grandchildren Jill Hume (Bill), Thad Montgomery (Gayle), Mandi Smith, Cory Campbell, Chasity Campbell, Luke Boone (Jessica), Susanna Busby (Erik), Jesse Boone (Morgan), Hannah Bailey (Randy) and Leah Austin; 11 great-grand-children; sister Doris Ann Shively and husband Lester, sister Alice (Doley) Lesher; and sister-in-law Jane Boone. Preceding him in death were an infant son, Russell Wayne Boone, his daughter Reva Campbell, his parents, and 11 of his siblings. On October 8, 1950 he committed his life to Jesus Christ in baptism at the Pigg River Old German Baptist Brethren Church of which he was a member at his passing. We trust him to our gracious and loving Father in Heaven for his eternity. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 28 th , 2017 from 2-4 pm and from 5:30-9 pm. The funeral service, being officiated by the Home Brethren, will be at 11 am on Saturday, April 29 th , 2017. Both are at Pigg River Old German Baptist Brethren Church at 6090 Six Mile Post Rd., Rocky Mount, VA. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boones Mill VA. The family respectfully requests no flowers. Arrangements are handled by Flora Funeral Service in Rocky Mount VA.
