Clarence Alton Jones

Clarence Alton (Bill) Jones, 72, of Rocky Mount passed away Friday, January 7, 2011. He was born September 2, 1938 a son of the late Clarence and Thettie Young Jones. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Lynch, Ruby Robertson and Edith Harrison Goins; brothers, Grady Jones and Eural Jones; a nephew, Dewey Harrison. Uncle Bill was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church where he loved his Sunday School class. He loved people and never met a stranger. He was a faithful Nascar fan and a Jeff Gordon fan. He worked 25 years at Plaster’s Bestway in Fieldale and most recently at Jones Produce and Goodwill of Rocky Mount. Surviving are his brothers, Calvin Jones and Sidney Jones; nieces and nephews, Randy Jones, Cheryl Pigg, Carolyn Ann Plaster, Gainelle Plaster, H.D. Harrison, Henry Harrison, Tommy Harrison, Shelvie Foley, Raven Lynch, Reather Oakes, Jackie Robertson, Larry Robertson, Doug Robertson, Regina Scott and many loving great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2011 from Flora Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mark Griffith officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Memorial donations may be made to Gideons International, P.O.
