Claude Earnest Minton

Claude Ernest Minton, age 63 of Ferrum passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010. He was born April 16, 1947 and was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Roy Minton; and brother, Junior Minton. Surviving are his wife, Betty Minton; mother, Eunice Minton; sisters, Elizabeth “Liz” Blankenship (Ronnie), Dora Dean McGuire (Randy), and Betty McCroskey; one son, Ernest Minton (Patty); step-children, Peggy Boston, Mary Ann Altice (Ruben), Tracy Gonzalez (Johnny) and Stacy Boyd (Vickie); three grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. Graveside services will be conducted from the Ingram Family Cemetery (Dry Hill Road, Ferrum) 2 p.m. Friday with Rev. Roger Jones officiating. His family will receive friends at the home, 1120 Buffalo Ridge Road, Ferrum, Va. 24088. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
