Claude H. Perdue, Jr, age 66, died on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport, Tennessee following his battle with lung cancer. He was born on July 19, 1952 in Rocky Mount, Virginia to the late Claude and Catherine Perdue. He was a graduate of Franklin County High School and the University of Virginia at Wise. He worked in business management for Westmoreland Coal Company for many years before moving on to self-employed consultant work and office administrator for East Tennessee Dental Restoration. Claude, known better to his friends and family as Junior, lived life to the fullest whether skiing down a mountain or spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Lana) Moore; and two grandchildren, Madison and Harrison Burks. He will be remembered as a loving and caring father and grandfather (Poppie) and a devoted friend. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Claude's name to the American Cancer Society. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, at Franklin Memorial Park, with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. His family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. -10:45 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2018 at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center.
