Claudia Mae Kautz

Claudia Mae Kautz, age 94 of Penhook passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Anna Shank Espenshade. Surviving are her husband of 75 years, Lloyd Kautz; children, Linda Rice, Sandy (Gary) Horst, Donna (Tom) Faulkner and Deanna (Mike) Rathsam; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; friends, Scoop and Becky, Jerry and Leonna, Steve, Scott and Heather, Trish and Ton Oakes. Claudia loved to garden and canning her crops, especially her strawberry jam. She took two trips around the United States with her husband Lloyd on their motorcycle. Claudia was a secretary for Kautz Brothers Excavating and Kautz and Yost Construction until her retirement. Funeral services will be conducted at Boones Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024 with her grandson Brian Horst officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakes Family Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
