Claudine Abshire Mizak, age 86 of Boones Mill went home to be with the Lord August 15, 2010. She was a precious angel with a beautiful smile. Mrs. Mizak loved the Lord, was a member of Grace Brethren Church and always had a desire to teach children, do soul winning and participate in Child Evangelism Fellowship. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Lee Abshire, Sr. and Delia Peters Abshire; husband, Andrew S. Mizak, Jr.; brother, Rev. J. Donald Abshire; brother-in-law, Jesse Guilliams; and son-in-law, Randy Erickson. Surviving are her sons, Michael and Vickie Mizak, Steven and Kathryn Mizak, Rickie L. Mizak; daughter, Cecelia Erickson; daughter-in-law, Trena; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Janet Abshire; sister, Janet Guilliams; sister-in-law, Colleen Abshire; many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Pastor Ronald Coleman and Pastor Joe Dillon for their faithful visits, Bennie Gearheart for his kindness, the staff of Red Oak Manor and Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Wednesday with Dr. Richard Harrell, Rev. Rickie Mizak, Johnny Abshire, and Rev. James Steele officiating.
