Clifton Gordon Hammock

Clifton Gordon Hammock, age 93 of Rocky Mount passed peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. Gordon was born November 18, 1925 to the late Arthur and Daisy Hammock. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Dianne Hammock. Gordon is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Bertha (Hall) Hammock; daughter, Lois (Raymond) Spradlin; son, Clif (Lisa) Hammock; grandchildren, Jody Hall, Shannon (Mandy) Hall, Luke Hammock, Seth Hammock, Ashley Hammock; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Polly (Kenneth) Esslinger, Jimmy Hammock and Joe Hammock. Gordon was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II and retired from 3M National Advertising Company. He spent his life surrounded by his loving family up until the last day. A memorial service will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Friday with Pastor Travis Gore and Pastor Robert Meredith officiating. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
