Clyde France Gearheart

Clyde France Gearheart, age 100 of Ferrum died Sunday, March 18, 2012. Mrs. Gearheart was a long time member of Maple Grove United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, H.C. and Mary Lee France; her husband, Julian Gearheart; daughter, Mary Lois Atkins; and grandson, Brian Atkins. Surviving are her grandson, Dean (Teresa) Atkins; her son-in-law, Elmer Atkins; and great-grandchildren, Samantha and Wesley Atkins. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her extended family caregivers of many years, Bonnie and June Harlow and Annjalete’ and Warren Devan. Funeral services will be conducted from Maple Grove United Methodist Church 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Winston Crichlow and Rev. Douglas Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Maple Grove United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
