Clyde George Pruitt

Clyde George Pruitt, age 80 of Hardy passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. He was born May 11, 1935 a son of the late Robert and Esie Reynolds Pruitt and was also preceded in death by his son, Jesse Roy Pruitt; brothers, James, Giles and Robert; sisters, Gracie Pruitt and Eva Gray. He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Alice Marie Pruitt; children, Daniel Pruitt (Nellie), David Pruitt (Shirley), Joseph Pruitt (Teresa), Rita Pruitt; grandchildren, Amy Holland (Erik), Joshua Taylor (Faith), Brandy Pruitt (Nick), Brad Pruitt, Kimberly Pruitt, Jessie Pruitt (Tyler); great-grandchildren, Graycie, Bethany, Bella, Donovan, Emma, Adalyn, Ariel; an expected great-grandson; brothers, Lewis and John; sisters, Mary Frances Dunford, Josephine Trammel and Iva Eanes. Special thanks to Gentle Shepherd Hospice for their care. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Friday with Minister, Steve Pasley officiating. Interment will follow in Epworth United Methodist Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
